Speaking in tongues is essential for Christian success. this is one area of power that the Holy Spirit has granted us to enter as His Children and servants in the vineyard.
1 Corinthians 14:14:14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
That means this is an unlearned tongue, and it is not for human understanding. therefore, it should be sounds that humans can’t relate to, but it is what the Holy Spirit needs to do His work and will in the life of a Christian.
